Dental implants
If you are missing a tooth or all of your teeth, implants may be the perfect thing for you. Implants are an alternative to a fixed bridge and/or partial or full removable denture. Implants usually involve two stages. Stage one is performed by a specialist (oral surgeon or peridontist) where he/she places a titanium post inside the jaw bone. After 3-6 months of healing, stage two is performed by Dr. Trowbridge, where a custom crown is fabricated to fit over the implant. Porcelain Bridges
A dental bridge is a false tooth that is fused between two crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns holding it in place are attached onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridge cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable partial denture.
